How to enter

The 2017 Awards are open for nomination from Saturday 1 April until Wednesday 31 May.

In 2017 Queensland Literary Awards will be accepting nominations in these categories:

Awards for published books

Nominate 1 or more works for 1 or more published work categories

Nominate 1 or more works for 1 or more published work categories (with fee exemption)

Queensland Premier’s Award for a work of State Significance, $25,000
The University of Queensland Fiction Book Award, $10,000
The University of Queensland Non-Fiction Book Award, $10,000
Griffith University Children's Book Award, $10,000
Griffith University Young Adult Book Award, $10,000
University of Southern Queensland History Book Award, $10,000
University of Southern Queensland Short Story Collection – Steele Rudd Award, $10,000
State Library of Queensland Poetry Collection – Judith Wright Calanthe Award, $10,000
QUT Digital Literature Award, $10,000
The Courier-Mail People's Choice Queensland Book of the Year Award, $10,000

Awards for writers and unpublished manuscripts

Queensland Premier’s Young Publishers and Writers Awards, $10,000 - Nominate a work
Queensland Writers Fellowships, $15,000 - Apply for a Fellowship  (DOCX 102.0 KB)
Emerging Queensland Writer – Manuscript Award, $10,000 - Nominate a work
Unpublished Indigenous Writer – David Unaipon Award, $10,000 -  Nominate a work

To enter, please follow these steps:

  1. Read the Guidelines, Terms and Conditions, and Frequently Asked Questions.
  2. Complete the online nomination form and if required, pay the nomination fee.
  3. Send your books or manuscripts to State Library of Queensland as outlined in the Guidelines.
